Access to archives is limited by various factors: lack of visibility, inadequate cataloguing and even dire storage conditions. Yerusha wishes to bring as many of these valuable primary sources to light as possible, connecting them across national boundaries and discovering new, relevant document. Yerusha does not only focus on specifically Jewish collections, it is also interested in any groups of records holding Jewish-related materials. Grants are available for survey work that will contribute to the Yerusha database.
The Yerusha website marks the first stage of the Yerusha portal and is designed to indicate the wealth and breadth of documentary sources available on European Jewish history.
